Areas of Practice > Bankruptcy
Ms. Appelman and Mr. Inderbitzin practice in the Federal Bankruptcy Court in both Rockford and Chicago.
The firm offers a full range of services including Chapter 7 (straight bankruptcy), Chapter 11 (individual
or corporate reorganization) and Chapter 13 (wage earners reorganization). We would be more than happy to
discuss your financial situation with you and help you determine which one of the various bankruptcy
alternatives may be suitable for you. There is no charge for this initial consultation.
If it is determined that bankruptcy is available and right for you, you will be given a package of
questions which you will need to answer in order to provide us will all of the necessary information
as to your outstanding accounts, bills and other obligations, as well as assets.
Economic hardship puts a tremendous strain on a marital relationship. It is not uncommon for couples
going through a divorce to also consider bankruptcy. Frequently, neither party individually can shoulder
the marital debt. Bankruptcy was designed to give individuals or couples a fresh start. It was designed
for people who have suffered an economic set back, the loss of a job, injury, medical problem, or just
to name a few. The bankruptcy laws are changing and if this is a course of action you are considering,
you must consult an attorney. There is no charge for an initial consultation.
