Background Information:
Ms. Appelman began her legal career as a student attorney in 1994 working for Legal Aid (of Central Michigan) and the Housing Resource Center concentrating in the areas of family law and landlord/tenant issues. Ms Appelman graduated from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in 1995 and was admitted to the Illinois Bar and U.S. District of Illinois in 1995. Ms Appelman has been in private practice since 1995 and continues to concentrate her practice in the area of family law. She has been a practicing attorney in McHenry and Lake Counties for over 5 years. Recently, Ms. Appelman joined the law office of James F. Bishop & Associates and brought with her extensive experience in representing clients in all types of family law disputes including dissolution of marriage (divorce), custody disputes, adoption, pre and post nuptial agreements, child support matters and actions to establish paternity. Ms. Appelman has successfully litigated divorces, custody disputes on behalf of the mother and father, adoptions and paternity actions.

Ms. Appelman has been president of the Woodstock Jaycees, State Legal Council for the Illinois Jaycees, District Director for the Illinois Jaycees and Region Director for the Illinois Jaycees. She is currently very active in community affairs.
